Once upon a time, Claire Wise's life had been simple. Oh, she had a boyfriend she adored, but she was bored. Then, in the aftermath of the Battle of New York, a piece of alien technology fell into their laps. Benny, genius that he is, managed to get the thing working, but it was Claire who came up with the idea to use it to change their luck.

Using the alien weapon, they robbed their way down the coast. Eventually, as it will, their luck ran out and they were caught by the Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division.

Instead of being arrested, they were recruited. Benny was sent to R&D and Claire...she's stuck making coffee.
